Our story
Ground Floor isn't a café where people happen to work, and it isn't a coworking space that forgot about the coffee. It's one carefully made room, five minutes from home.
Why Ground Floor exists
Plenty of us start the day at a kitchen table, move to a café for a couple of hours, and end up somewhere that was never designed for hour six. There are desks to rent in this city — what's harder to find is a place close to home you'd genuinely choose every morning.
Ground Floor is being built around that: a small, beautifully made room in your own neighborhood where the coffee is worth the walk, the chair is good, and staying all day is the entire point.
Why Summerlin
Summerlin and Henderson are home to remote employees, founders, agents, designers and consultants who already made their choice about where to live. We'd rather build for that neighborhood than ask it to drive across the valley.
Our first location opens in Summerlin — Fall 2026. Exact addresses aren't locked yet. We're in the site-selection stage and will confirm the block with members before we sign.
Why coffee matters
A workspace with bad coffee is an office. We're building the coffee bar first — local roasters, a proper espresso program, and baristas who learn your order — and letting the workspace grow around it.
The bar is open to the public, so the room never feels like a private club with the blinds drawn. Members get drip and tea included, all day.
Why proximity matters
The best workspace in the world doesn't help if it's a 30-minute drive each way. The whole thesis of Ground Floor is that the room has to be close enough that going there is easier than staying home.
That's why we're growing neighborhood by neighborhood instead of building one big flagship downtown.
Our philosophy of community
No forced networking, no name-tag mixers, no pitch nights. Just the same faces at the same counter often enough that saying hello stops being awkward.
We host a handful of real things a month — a coffee cupping, a member dinner, a quiet co-working morning — and let the rest happen on its own.
The founder
Ground Floor started with a frustration a lot of people here share: the valley is full of people who work from home, and almost nothing in the neighborhood is genuinely built for them. Coffee shops run out of outlets by ten. Offices downtown mean a highway and a badge.
So we're building the room we wanted — small, well made, five minutes from home, with coffee good enough to justify the trip on its own.
We're doing it in the open, with the first 40 members helping shape the floor plan, the hours and the programming before a single wall goes up.

Building in public
We spent the month touring available ground-floor retail between Rampart and Downtown Summerlin, measuring rooms, counting parking spaces and sitting in each one at 9am to see what the light does.
Nothing is signed. When we do sign, the block gets announced here first — and members hear before the internet does.
The coffee program is the part we refuse to get wrong, so we've been cupping with local roasters and pulling shots on borrowed equipment to settle on an espresso we'd happily drink twice a day.
No partnership is announced until an agreement is signed. What we can say: the house espresso will be roasted in this valley.
Every early conversation is going into the layout: how many phone booths, how quiet the desk room should be, whether the lounge faces the coffee bar or turns its back to it.
